Desson — The Red Piano Jazz, 2026
In this vibrant and expressive painting, Desson invites us into the lively atmosphere of a late-night jazz performance, where musicians and instruments intertwine in a richly layered composition of colour and movement. At the heart of the scene, a striking red piano commands attention, surrounded by stylized figures, a double bass, an accordion and fellow musicians immersed in their performance. Bold black outlines, generous impasto and daring contrasts of red, blue, yellow and purple infuse the composition with an almost musical energy. In the background, the moon, stars and urban silhouettes evoke the warm, bohemian spirit of a jazz club after dark. Full of spontaneity and personality, this work celebrates music, nightlife and the freedom of artistic expression.
